Lesson 1.12: Two Variable Relationships

When we compare two different variables we usually create scatter plots to help us see if there is a relationship between the data.

In class we examined the scatter plots below:

Each scatter plot represented a different relationship that we have already studied:

Scatter Plot 1: Linearly Decreasing

Scatter Plot 2: Exponential Decay

Scatter Plot 3: No Relationship

Scatter Plot 4: Quadratically Increasing

For a scatter plot to show some sort of relationship the points do not have to form a perfect relationship. They just have to be close.
